Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission Raffle Licenses
The Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission licenses gaming events such as raffles. Only charities or religious groups can apply for a raffle license. Profits from the raffle must be used for charitable or religious activities. Conducting a gaming event without a license is a serious criminal offence.
As an agent for Alberta Registries, we can issue a raffle license for a ticket value of $10,000 or less to an eligible organization. This license allows the organization to hold a gaming event to raffle-off prizes such as cars, vacations, etc. This is not a bingo, casino or pull-ticket license. These types of licenses must be applied for directly from the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission.
To apply for a license, your organization must first be deemed eligible. Registry offices are supplied with an Approved Listing by the Commission. We first check to ensure your organization is listed. If not, you have a pre-issue step to complete.
If your organization is already approved, complete an application, pay the fee and you will be issued your license. Call (780) 463-4006 for a detailed explanation of fees.
